This woman deserves a round of applause and a throne of gold. This is the most realistic & amazing thing for someone to say for this generation of students. I wasn’t able to go to college this year because my parents can’t afford to send me and I had every scholarship, grant, loan known to man and it still wouldn’t work. Finally someone gets it!

Preach!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO REALIZE THIS?!

SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES EITHER PAY FOR THEIR POPULATIONS’ EDUCATION OR JUST WRITE OFF THE BILL IF DOESN’T GET PAID FOR.

THE WAY THE AMERICAN EDUCATION SYSTEM WORKS IS BACKWARDS AND MANGLED.

^^^^^I would just like to say that yes other countries pay for education but, at least in the UK, once they go onto a higher education institution like university, you have to pay for each semester (like in the US, I’m guessing). Either by student loans, out of pocket, or you can get bursaries and scholarships (like I suppose you have in the US). We then have something like 25 years to pay back the student loans once you earn something like £15,000 a year or they get written off.

It’s still a lot better than the US, because our Uni fees are a lot lower and because of the delay on repayment, but yeah I’m just saying that we do still have to pay for that type of education, my friend.

Yup Keira was 16/17 for the filming of the first Pirates movie and here I am at 20, and all I’ve done today is study chemistry, eat cookies and cry a lot.
